Snow drifts remain in July in the high artic wilderness of the Scottish Highland's Cairngorm National Park.

Though the Scottish highlands can be very warm in the sunshine, the Cairngorms 'montane zone' (land above 600m) makes up the largest area of artic wilderness in the UK. Rare animal and plant species can be found here, as well as the best collection of varying landforms outside artic Canada.

If you would like to explore the area around Aviemore, we can assure you that if you stay at Lochan Mor Lodge, or Creag Mhor you will have a very special holiday.

For some great photos of the area and things to do and see visit cairngorms scotland.blogspot and scotland.blogspot
