This is one of the smaller waterfalls on this section of the river Bruar as it drops through the gorge down to the river Garry. The House of Bruar is a popular stop on the way North or South, a short walk then takes you to some spectacular waterfalls.

We had a great day out walking in the Rothiemurchus forest near Glenmore Lodge in the Cairngorm National Park, rounded off by a wonderful sunset over Loch Morlich. A very special day out in the Mountains of Scotland.

Robert Burns would have loved this Scottish Clootie Dumpling Traditional but Fast and with a Skin.


Microwave Clootie Dumpling

Ingredients

1 Cup Water
1 Cup Brown Sugar
8oz Soft Margarine
2 tbsp Syrup
2 Cups Sultanas

Put all these ingredients together in a pan and boil for 1 minute, remove from the heat and the add -

2 Cups SR flour
2 Beaten Eggs
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp mixed spice

Mix thoroughly.
Put mixture into a bowl, which has been lined with microwavable cling film and cook in a microwave oven on full power for 10 minutes.

Turn out when cool.

Just like Granny used to make without all the mess and time.

Aviemore Cairngorm Ben Macdui Family Mission.The family came from Scotland, England and New Zealand. We stayed at Lochan Mor Lodge in Aviemore and had a family mission to climb Cairngorm and Ben Macdui, the second highest Mountain in the Highlands of Scotland. We caught one of the good days in July.

Glenshee Eastern Cairngorm Mountains. Glenshee, on the South Eastern side of the Cairngorms National Park, is probably best known in Scotland as a ski area, however, it provides good Highland hill walking as well. The high level road gives relatively easy access to almost a dozen Munroes in the area.
