The Perth and Kinross Duke of Edinburgh Mini Bus on Calum's Road on the Isle of Raasay

The Perth and Kinross Duke of Edinburgh Mini Bus on Calum's Road on the Isle of Raasay.

Callum's Road, a great new read about a man driven by his convictions to build a road to his remote community on the Scottish Island when the local council refused to help.

We had a great trip to the Island, walking, climbing and camping. This picture was taken at the South end of Calum's Road.

The Sky at Midnight at Mid Summer looking out over the Isle of Skye from Raasay.

I fantastic time to be out in the Scottish Highlands, long summer nights when it hardly gets dark. This photo was taken on the longest day at midnight looking out across Skye from Raasay.

Mid Summer Midnight Bonfire on Raasay just off the Isle of Skye in Scotland

Mid Summer Midnight Bonfire on Raasay just off the Isle of Skye in Scotland.

A wild, stormy night but we celebrated the summer solstice on a beach on the Isle of Raasay with a big bonfire and baked muscles straight from the sea. Scottish Sea Food at it's freshest and best.

If you want to explore Scotland a great place to base yourself is Aviemore, it's just about as central as you can get. If you would like to explore this area, we can assure you that if you stay at Lochan Mor Lodge, or Creag Mhor you will have a very special holiday.
