For those of you familiar with the area, you will of course realise that this is not the top of Ben Macdui, it is in fact the top of Cairngorm, which we passed on our way to Ben Macdui.
From the peak of Scotlands second highest mountain Ben Macdui the stunning landscape of the Cairngorm National Park can be fully appreciated. Reaching there from the Cairngorm Ski Centre, passing over the top of Cairngorm Mountain, makes for a challenging and inspiring day out for visitors to the Scottish Highlands.

Setting off up Cairngorm Mountain on a Family Day out in the Mountains of Cairngorm National Park. After climbing Cairngorm we crossed the Cairngorm Plateau to Ben Macdui, then back past the Northern Corries to complete the loop. A seven hour tramp in the wilderness seeing only a handful of other people.

Callum's Road, a great new read about a man driven by his convictions to build a road to his remote community on the Scottish Island when the local council refused to help.

The Wee Shop at Glenmore just Beside Loch Morlich Cairngorm.

On the road from Aviemore to Cairngorm Mountain you pass the beautiful Loch Morlich just before you get to the hamlet of Glenmore. Here there is a Camp site, youth hostel, forest rangers station, reindeer station a few houses and the Wee Shop.

The Shop also has a Cafe attached where you can sit and watch the wild birds feed. Red Squirrels come to lunch here as well.
