Scottish Red Deer come in off the Mountains and use this Rubbing Tree to remove paracites

Scottish Red Deer come in off the Mountains and use this Rubbing Tree to remove paracites.

This tree is on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park on Atholl Estate where there are large herds of native Red Deer. The deer come down of the mountains to use this tree to rub. The tree will now die.

Want to spend some time in the area exploring? We can assure you that if you stay at Lochan Mor Lodge, or Creag Mhor you will have a very special holiday.

Scottish Highland Frogs in the Cairngorms National Park

Scottish Highland Frogs in the Cairngorms National Park.

We went for a walk in the forest outside Grantown on Spey and found these cute frogs making tadpoles. There are some great forest walks around Grantown, we went into the village for coffee and Ice Cream half way round our walk, a real treat.

Aviemore is at the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, an ideal place to explore the area.

We can assure you that if you stay at Lochan Mor Lodge, or Creag Mhor you will have a very special holiday.
